Jalapeno Pretzel Dogs

Nothing says Football season better than Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Wings or Pretzels. One of my favorite appetizers is Jalapeno Pretzel Dogs dipped in a good cheddar sauce. Kids and Adults love this snack.

I choose to pair my snack with a delicious Antoniou Cabernet Sauvignon, but you could also pair with a good Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, or a Syrah

FOLLOW THIS SIMPLE RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS FOR 12 Servings

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 12 hot dogs
  • 3 tablespoon baking soda
  • water
  • 5 ounce of crushed Jalepeno Peppers
  • Cheddar Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS: 6 EASY STEPS

  • 1 PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • 2 BRING a large pot of water to a boil. Add hot dogs and boil for 3 minutes. Once hot dogs are cooked, allow to cool enough to handle.
  • 3 WHILE cooking hot dogs, roll out pizza dough and cut into 12 – 1/2 inch strips lengthwise. (There may be dough leftover; twist into bread sticks and bake) Spread crushed Jalapeños in pie dish.
  • 4 LADLE one cup of the boiling water from the hot dogs into a bowl big enough to fit hot dogs. Add baking soda and stir until dissolved.
  • 5 WRAP each hot dog with one strip of dough, twisting it around and back. Leave a 1/2 inch space at each end. When hot dogs are wrapped, carefully dip each into water mixture being sure to cover.
  • 6 GENTLY roll each hot dog in crushed Jalapeños and place on baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Bake until browned on top. Serve with Cheddar Sauce.
IT DOESNT MATTER if youre making Jalapeno Pretzel Dogs, or another favorite, AS LONG AS YOU PAIR IT WELL

Pairing your appetizers, main dish or deserts with the right wine is key to the experience. I only use Fine Wines that do not have artificial sulphites. Like most people, I do not like headaches and my taste buds want real wine flavor. I found the best source for my wines out of Napa Valley California. Never a mass produced wine, and always the best. I actually joined that wine club and get 4 bottles (or more lol) delivered to my door every month. I love the art of getting the wines and finding the right food to pair it with.
